Tamale Hut Café Writers Group meeting for April

Spring is here and the calendar shows that 2016 is just about one-third gone.  How’s that book you resolved to write this year coming along?  If you haven’t even started yet, fret not.  There is still plenty of time to conceive your literary progeny and gestate it to term before the end of the year.  If you’ve started and are struggling, or if you’re still in the planning stages and struggling, why not stop by the next Writers Group meeting to talk about it?  We’re more than happy to offer advise and encouragement.

We’re ten chapters in on our group story and have only a few writers left on our first go-around.  At the last meeting we briefly discussed what to do when everyone’s had a chance at writing a chapter.  It seems that the consensus was that we should wrap this one up and start another, but we’ll decide for certain at the April meeting.  If you volunteered to participate in this project, keep an eye on your mailbox, because you may be next!  If you’re interested in participating but haven’t notified me yet, or if you think you volunteered and want to confirm you’re still in the queue, please  send me an e-mail and I’ll verify or add you as appropriate.

The next THC Writers Group meeting will be Saturday, April 9th, at the Tamale Hut Café, starting at 2PM.  If you can attend, we’d love to see you there.  If you would like to submit a piece for critique during the meeting, please send it to thcwritersgroup@gmail.com, along with an idea of the level of feedback you are looking for, and I will distribute it to the group.  If you have something you would like feedback on but you can’t attend the meeting, I’d be glad to forward it to the group as well.  We can discuss it at the meeting and get some comments back to you via e-mail.

Hope to see you all on the 9th for the Writers Group, and on the 16th for the April Reading Series night, with featured reader Jeffrey Westhoff.

For those of you attending, you should have already received the following pieces:
Sean – THE_TRICK_formatted.pdf
Beth – Chapter 12 Anya temperance.docx, Chapter 13 new place.docx, Chapter 14 Fish Boil.docx
Cary – Chapter 4 – Awkwardness.docx, Chapter 5 – Boy Meets Girl.docx
Matt H – Kelly’s letters 2.docx
