Tamale Hut Café Writers Group meeting for July

As I sit here this morning, it looks to be a beautiful sunny day outside.  I just checked the weather forecast, and thunderstorms are developing this afternoon, and are expected to last until early October, so enjoy the sunshine while you can, because after that, we’ll have excellent weather for staying inside and writing!

One quick announcement: the deadline for the Tamale Hut Café 2015 Short Story Contest is fast approaching.  They’re accepting stories until July 10, 2015, so get your story in soon.  Details can be found at http://thcstorycontest.blogspot.com/.  Note that the web site says that the top prize is $300, but at the last Reading Series event, Brendan said that they raised it to $500.

The next THC Writers Group meeting will be Saturday, July 11th, at the Tamale Hut Café, starting at 2PM.  If you can attend, we’d love to see you there.  If you would like to submit a piece for critique during the meeting, please reply to this message and attach it, along with an idea of the level of feedback you are looking for, and I will distribute it to the group.  If you have something you would like feedback on but you can’t attend the meeting, I’d be glad to forward it to the group as well.  We can discuss it at the meeting and get some comments back to you via e-mail.

Hope to see you all on the 11th for the Writing Group.

For those of you attending, I have already forwarded the following pieces:
Laurie – The Incident with the Kitten.docx
Salvador – InstrumentOfTheMind.doc
Beth – A new Job 1909x.docx
Beth – Chapter 2.docx
Matt B – Stalking Stan Dixon ch 12.rtf
Matt H – Beholder section 2.docx
Marianne – THE LAST PARADE.docx
